⚠️ Warning: Software May Contain Calculation Bugs & Errors

This software is provided "as is" and "with all faults". Calculations, pacing algorithms, Safe-to-Spend allowances, cashflow projections, and bank balances may contain mathematical errors, programming bugs, rounding anomalies, or logic defects. Never make spending, transfer, or payment decisions based on figures shown in this app without independently verifying them in your official bank account.

1. Personal Budgeting & Forecasting Utility Only — No Regulated Advice

HABit is an independent, self-hosted personal budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow tracking utility for Home Assistant. It is provided strictly for personal organizational and estimation reference. HABit does not provide regulated financial, investment, banking, credit, tax, or legal advice. Neither the authors nor contributors are registered financial advisers, chartered accountants, certified planners, or regulated financial entities.

2. No Guarantee of Mathematical Accuracy — Potential Bugs & Flaws

All financial metrics generated by this application—including Safe-to-Spend allowances, daily burn rates, Sunday closing targets, payday cycle calculations, bank holiday shift schedules, credit card auto-pay projections, sinking fund distributions, and net worth trajectories—are algorithmic approximations based on historical data, user inputs, and third-party feeds.

The author makes NO WARRANTY OR GUARANTEE that any calculation, projection, or figure is accurate, complete, reliable, timely, or fit for any purpose. Calculations do not guarantee future cash availability, solvency, or actual account balances. Software bugs, logic flaws, edge cases, formula errors, and third-party feed discrepancies may cause projected figures to differ materially from reality.

3. Sole User Responsibility & Independent Bank Verification

You acknowledge and agree that you remain exclusively and solely responsible for:

4. Disclaimer of All Warranties ("As-Is" Provision)

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, this software is provided strictly on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, quiet enjoyment, or system accuracy.

5. Full Exclusion of Liability & Hold Harmless (Ironclad Waiver)

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHOR, DEVELOPERS, MAINTAINERS, OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION:

By using HABit, you expressly agree to defend, indemnify, and hold completely harmless the author, developers, and contributors from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of this software.

6. Data Loss, Corruption, Local Storage & Backup Responsibility

HABit operates locally within your Home Assistant environment. The author accepts zero responsibility for any loss of data, corrupted databases, accidental factory resets, failed automated backups, or cloud synchronization interruptions (including Microsoft OneDrive or Google Drive). You are solely responsible for routinely exporting, testing, and securing offline backups of your financial data.

7. Open Banking & Third-Party Services

Open Banking connectivity (via GoCardless, Nordigen, or other aggregators) and bank statement parsers are third-party services provided solely for user convenience. The author bears no responsibility for third-party API availability, data accuracy, expired consent tokens, missing transactions, duplicate records, or network transmission errors. All credentials and access tokens stored on your Home Assistant instance remain your sole responsibility to secure.

9. Future Revisions & Re-Acceptance

As calculation methodologies, features, and regulations evolve, these terms may be updated. When updated, re-acceptance of the revised terms will be required to maintain access to the application.
